The scenic, Athirappaly Water falls, at God’s Own Country – Kerala, has guest starred in lots of movies. It joins the Chalakudy River plunging down 80 ft from the top. This is widely known as “The Niagara of India” 

Situated at a distance of about 650 km from Chennai, Athirapally is easily accessible by road. You can commute via the following route.

Route : Chennai Central – Puducherry – Villupuram – Salem – Vadakkenchery – Chalakudy -Athirapally Water Falls



En route, explore the beautiful beaches along the East Cost Road from Chennai, quick glimpse at the colourful and clean French Quarter and experience the earthy vibes of nearby Auroville at Puducherry.

Viluppuram is a Municipality and the administrative headquarters of Viluppuram district, the largest district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. This town remembers the historical period of Cholas, known for it’s traditional temples, ruins in and around Villupuram. Taking a break is important to consider since you can get visit the anicent & historical Golden Era with it’s Epic Old Gingee Fort, on with the way to explore the God’s Own Country – Kerala

Athirappilly is  also formed by the Chalakudy River. It actually originates in Anamalai ranges and forms a big river by joining to other streams. The beautiful Chalakudy River plunges here as Athirappilly Falls at 80 ft from the top.

Get yourself drenched from the waterfalls, climb to the top of the hills to experience the hidden view of Athirapally Falls, but be careful with the uneven paths and slippery surfaces.
